Fall, Family and Fun

November was a busy month.  Luke traveled to Missouri to teach a wet lab at the University of Missouri vet school.  Then Grammie Bre Bre came to visit which was a big treat!  Her and Colby played and played!!  While she was here, we also took Colby for a general check up at UCSF with the cleft. team.  It was a good visit.  All in all he is doing everything he should.  We did mention to the speech therapist that we are concerned with his verbal communication.  She gave us some great recommendations and we are going to proceed from there.  She was not as worried as we are at this point because she said there is such variability between 12 mo. and 18 mo. in speech development.
Mid month, Luke traveled to San Antonio for the AAEP convention (national meeting for all equine vets).  The best part about this was I got to join him!!   Colby spent the time with Grammie-mie Paula and Papa Cliff.  San Antonio is a great convention city.  The Riverwalk was really neat, good food, drinks and best of all a chance to catch up with old friends.  On the last evening we were there, we went to the Foundation dinner and concert which featured one of our favorite Texas-country bands, Randy Rogers Band.  They were fantastic!!  So neat to see a band you like in a small setting and to be able to dance!  We had a great night and even bought a picture in the silent auction!  Cant wait for next year.....the convention is in Anaheim, CA.  Watch out Disneyland!  Once we got home we celebrated Thanksgiving a day early with my folks and then they headed back to CO.

Whats the best toy to get a little boy?  A cattle paddle.  He LOVES pushing and shaking and carrying the paddle all over outside.
Raking leaves, or pushing or something....
 Cutest little boy I know!

Ghosts, pumpkins and......a zebra!

Colby was the cutest zebra you have ever seen for Halloween this year.  He actually didn't mind the costume all that much.  Halloween was hot here in CA. We didnt take him trick-or-trating this year...I know, I know bad parents, but he doesnt even know what candy is.  So I figured I was safe for one more year.  Plus, then Luke and I would have had way too much candy to eat!
Luke and I went to a costume party this year.  It was fun to get dressed up and go out for a night with friends.  We havent dressed up in at least 5 years, so this was a big step. I wanted us to be a couples costume and so we decided to be Maverick and his blonde girlfriend, Charlie from the 1986 film Top Gun!!  We had a great time and received many compliments on the costumes.
