Old MacDonalds Farm

This past weekend we took Colby to visit old MacDonalds Farm! It is actually the home of Dr. Dave MacDonald, his wife Erica and their two boys. Dave is a surgeon at Pioneer with Luke. They have a great place here in Oakdale and it is literally old MacDonalds Farm....Just like the song. We really wanted to go see their baby goats. They had 13! And all were doing so well. Colby loved it! He stood by the pens and just watched them. He also met their cat, Dennis, Erica's horse Brighton, the chickens and saw the cows. Such a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. You can truly appreciate the little things when you see the smile they bring to a little ones face! I have never really been a goat person, bu these little guys were too cute. I have never really been a goat person, bu these little guys were too cute. The mostly brown ones were our favorites.

In other news, Colby will be 6 months old tomorrow. I can't believe it!! He is so much fun right now. He is eating cereal, and has tried yams, apples, pears, peaches, carrots and butternut squash. He liked them all except the squash. I will have to work on that one! Things are still going well with the baby sitter, so that is a huge blessing for us.

Look how big I am!

Beautiful Weather

We took advantage of the beautiful (and unexpected) California weather and went for a little hike this weekend. It wasn't too far and really I guess it was more like a stroll (especially since we were pushing a stroller) but at any rate we were out and it couldn't have been a better day for February. The sun was shining bright, no wind and the sky was blue sometimes a rare thing to see in the central valley this time of year. We went up the Stanislaus River to a little town called Knights Ferry. They have a really cool old covered bridge that has been maintained since the late 1800's. It is now a historic land mark. Next time, we need to borrow a hiking backpack so we can actually go up into the hills with Colby. He was asleep for part of the trip, but woke up at the end for a few pictures!
I also included a picture of his favorite time of the day....bath time! I know he isn't exactly smiling (whenever I have a camera up it seems to take the smile away......) but he truly LOVES his baths! And now they are in the big tub! There is lots of splashing and a little washing! We might have the next Michael Phelps on our hands.

Are you serious, Mom?
