In a week....

A week from today we will be in San Francisco for Colby's lip surgery. It is scheduled for first thing Thursday morning. If you happen to think about us next week; say a little prayer that Colby sails through the surgery and has an easy recovery. We would appreciate it!

Colby has recently discovered that sucking on his hands is fun....which normally would be fine except for in his case it usually pulls the tape off his lip. So needless to say, we have been going through more tape lately. Which, I will not miss at all after next weeks surgery. We have been trying to imagine what his little face will look like with his lip repaired, but it is hard to picture. To us, he is perfect now and I really don't think about him looking different until I see one of my friends little ones that have a normal nose and lip. So yes, I am excited to quit taping, to be able to kiss his little nose and lips and for him to not take in so much air when he eats. But at the same time I am very scared and anxious about sending my 11 week baby into full surgery. But what does bring some comfort is that God is on our side and watching out for our little guy!

Not much else is happening here....Luke is staying fairly busy at the clinic and I, well I am in Colby land each day! The weather is finally looking like fall in CA and it is brisk in the mornings when we walk.

All Smiles....just "monkeying" around

Sporting the overalls and polo shirt! Very serious face....

Smiles!

Mr. Colby is officially smiling! It is a funny little grin with his tape, but it is most definitely a smile! It lights up our days and makes all the hard moments worth it.
We traveled to San Francisco yesterday for our last check up before the surgery. Colby weighed 11 pounds 12 ounces and had grown an entire inch since the last time we were there! Everything is still set for the Nov. 4th surgery and we are anxious yet excited.
We have also been practicing out "tummy"time. I can around the corner from getting a drink and found Miley practicing her tummy time as well.....We have such funny dogs. I keep telling Colby that his doggies really love him!

Such a cute little smile! I love it!!! I am the luckiest Mama!

6 Weeks Old

It is crazy to think that our Colby has been with us for 6 weeks! The 10 months we waited for him to arrive seemed to go by so slow and yet these 6 weeks have flown by! He is growing like a weed and seems to change each day. We are starting to figure things out together and have somewhat of a routine for each day. Colby is easily 10 pounds and growing taller...to be just like his Daddy!

On our last trip to San Francisco to our doctors appointment we were able to schedule Colby's first surgery. It will be November 4th and this surgery will repair his lip. I think Luke and I are both OK with it now, but I'm sure once I have to had over my little prince, it will hit us both. It is hard sometimes to think of this little angel going under general anesthesia at 11 weeks old. Especially when my first trip to the hospital was to have him and I'm 30.

Our serious pose!

Such a handsome boy!

He was not very excited to have this hat on!
